4th Inclusion Golf Tournament - June 27, 2025

On June 27, 2025, members and friends of the German-American Women’s Club gathered at Golfpark Aschheim for our 4th Inclusion Golf Tournament – a day of playing golf together and for one another.

„It was so great“

From the very beginning, the atmosphere was warm and joyful. Our president, Andrea Hellmann, opened the event with heartfelt words, setting the tone for what would become an unforgettable day.

Together: Golfers with and without disabilities – including many of our GAWC ladies – teed off side by side in 14 mixed flights on the 9-hole course. The weather kept us on our toes: sunshine, pleasant temperatures, and even some heavy showers. But nothing dampened the spirit – if anything, it made the day even more memorable.

Together: What stood out most was the sense of community. While some players pushed themselves to achieve amazing shots and impressive scores, the real victory was the shared experience. The excitement of the final award ceremony made it clear: this was about more than trophies – it was about joy, connection, and inclusion.

Together: Afterward, everyone came together for a cheerful evening of good conversation, laughter, and delicious food. The lightness of the moment was something you could feel all around.

Supporting Each Other:Behind the scenes, inclusion coordinator Kerstin Schulz and golf pro Elizabeth Höh ensured everything ran smoothly. Liz was especially proud of her students, who gave their very best out on the fairways.

Supporting Each Other: And thanks to the generosity of our donors, the tournament raised an incredible €11,425.

With additional support from Power Golf, this means the “Handicap Stars” will soon have both a new electric trolley paid for - and fulfilling a long-held dream – a golf scooter!

Great joy...
...came when our inclusion group received the new golf scooter, donated by Ahowa & Golfwerft. Our coordinator, Kerstin Schulz, accepted it with pride, knowing it would make the game even more accessible. With its tight turning radius and reverse gear, this scooter is a real game-changer – allowing Kerstin, who plays with a leg prosthesis, and many others to glide across the fairways with ease.

Her longtime coach, Elizabeth Höh, was equally delighted to see her group equipped with a brand-new PC Powergolf trolley – perfect for those who prefer walking the course.

This gift was made possible by the proceeds of our summer tournament, presented at Golfpark by membership chairwoman Hannelore Demmel and charity chairlady Ulrike Kellner on August 28. We are deeply grateful to these generous women – and to the German-American Women’s Club, which has been dedicated to friendship and community since its founding in 1948 by American officers’ wives and the unforgettable Princess Pilar of Bavaria. “We can’t wait for next year!”

Third Inclusion Golf Tournament - September 26, 2024

Playing sports together, breaking down barriers, and doing something good for others – this was the trio of experiences enjoyed by 35 players in September during the third Inclusion Golf Tournament hosted by the German-American Women's Club, together with the Handicap Stars of Golfpark Aschheim. People with and without disabilities played in 17 mixed flights and enjoyed a day of golfing together.e

The proceeds from this charity event were fully donated this year to a project of the Mobile Special Education Service for the Physically Disabled in Upper Bavaria.  A special highlight was the presentation of the robot avatar AV1, which allows sick children and teenagers, who are unable to attend school, to participate in lessons from home. This innovative avatar was introduced during the tournament by Maximilian Popp from the company No Isolation.

Golf is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone and allows inclusion to be truly lived. In the end, all participants agreed: we are looking forward to the fourth Inclusion Golf Tournament of the German-American Women's Club in 2025!
